First, I would like to thank you and all those involved in organizing the Greater San Diego Championship Show.  It was an incredible experience that I will always hold dear to my heart. As a young 13 year old I dreamed of participating in English horse shows and winning ribbons.

Now as a 59 year old mother of three adult girls I have been able to pursue my dream of learning to ride English and showing. My first show last year was at Sycamore stables and I was so incredibly nervous that my coat was sopping wet.  I will admit I did feel just a tad bit out of place. As the volunteer maintainer of the computer code and website here at GSDHJA, I just wanted to recognize the overworked Amy Drinco of Hunter Valley and the rest of the GSDHJA Board for all their work in running the GSDHJA. As a non-profit all volunteer organization (unlike, say USEF), this little regional horse association does A LOT.

It maintains one of easiest to use yearly point tracking systems (sorry we are late right now with the December and January points – we are looking to revamp how Medal points are awarded – they should be up in about a week).

It runs THE BEST year end championship show that I have ever seen. With THE BEST PRIZES. Both at the show and year end.

It runs a wonderful yearly awards banquet.

It fosters good solid competition without having to pay 2-3 times as much for show fees as on the “A” circuit.

It even mails out awards to you (while enduring people questioning the $10 or $20 fee to do so).

ALL money collected in show fees, banquet fees and champ show fees goes back to competitors in the form of prizes (except for direct expenses like postage, Internet hosting, etc.).
