Nancy Reed, long time San Diego horse trainer, sadly lost her 5 year battle with cancer on February 26th. Nancy’s dedication to horses and riders and creating winning teams was honored last year with the Nancy Reed perpetual GSDHJA Hunter Derby Trophy. Click here for her obituary.

La Paloma theater in Encinitas is showing the movie Harry and Snowman. HELD OVER! It is playing for an additional week, check the theater web site for times (scroll down). This is an awesome movie, not only for horse aficionados, but for anyone who has a heart.

This true story documentary recounts how an immigrant horse trainer in the 1950s bought a plow horse off the slaughter truck, and trained him to be a world champion jumper. Superb archival footage, with many twists and turns along the way. Every single person who has seen it says they loved it. Don’t miss it, it will be hard to find this movie later (indie documentaries don’t get much distribution).

Congratulations Kaila Reeves and her horses Jet Stream and Upper Class.

Can’t get much more fun than this!

Congratulations to Natasha and her horse Regalo as they finished this week with a 3rd in the limit equation over fences, also finishing in great ribbons, in the low children’s Regalo and Natasha received a 5th overall finish out of 30. Congratulations to this fabulous team on a great show season and great champ show.

My riders favorite part of the Champ show is watching the Hunt Teams. This year they were old enough to take part in it. Great effort for their first attempt. It was so much fun for them!
